Events & Competitions

Saranya Concept School students participate very enthusiastically in the events and competitions organized within the school, intra-house as well as by the external organizations.  Here is a brief description of each event / competition 

 

Successive

            Successive is a series of visionary competitions conducted by the commerce department with the support and encouragement of management and principal. It is a friendly platform created to bringout student talents and learn through healthy competition.

The 4 visionary competitions conducted were Quiz, Ad Making, Quest for tycoons and Be a Young Business Entrepreneur.

These competitions focus of essence of business, entrepreneur skills and managerial abilities of students.

This event, also highlights importance of commerce which is often stereotyped as the least career offering stream. Students of Commerce took a great responsibility to organize the event, testing and improving their leadership, communication and managerial skills.

This event helps students to understand the career options which are vast in the commerce stream and are essential for the economy.

Children’s Day Celebration (November 14th) – A Day of Joy, Fun, and Creativity

On November 14th, our school celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. The day was filled with a variety of activities that catered to the diverse interests of our young learners.

Cultural Competitions: A Showcase of Talent

Competitions play a vital role in nurturing students’ skills and boosting their confidence.

Activities like map quizzes help improve geographical knowledge and analytical thinking, while rhymes competitions enhance creativity and linguistic abilities in younger students.

Monoacting provides a platform to showcase acting talent and develop expressive skills.

Debates encourage critical thinking, articulation, and the ability to understand diverse perspectives. Such events not only create a healthy competitive spirit but also foster teamwork, discipline, and an enthusiasm for learning, contributing to holistic development in school.

Class-Wise Fun Games: A Day of Frolic

To add an element of fun and excitement, a series of class-wise games were organized. These games encouraged teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition. Some of the games included:

 * Three-Legged Race: Students worked together to coordinate their steps and reach the finish line.

 * Sack Race: Students hopped their way to victory in this classic fun race.

 * Musical Chairs: A timeless game that kept everyone on their toes.

 * Treasure Hunt: Students embarked on a thrilling adventure to find hidden clues and treasures.

*Riddles, Volleyball, Throwball, Tug of War…..etc added an extra fun with team spirit and sportsmanship in the students to enjoy well the day.

A Memorable Day

The Children’s Day celebration was a resounding success. It provided a much-needed break from the routine academic schedule and allowed our students to relax, have fun, and learn new skills. The event also fostered a sense of camaraderie and school spirit among the students.

Bharat ko Jano Competition

It is a proud moment for Saranya students and staff.  Once again our students have proved their talent in “Bharat Ko Jano” Quiz competition conducted on 10-11-19 at Ananthapuram by “Bharat Vikas Parishad”.

The main criteria of the competition is to bring awareness among the students about our country’s geographical features, history, politics, constitution, mythology etc.

Two teams in Junior category & Senior category took part in the competition at district level & made their mark. The students are T.S.S. Varshith & P.Chetan in Junior category & S.L.K Vaibhav & D. Vishnu Charan in the Senior category.

The students of senior category S.L.K Vibhav & D.Vishnu charan were selected for state level competition and secured second place in our State.

Chekumuki Talent Test

Jana Vignana Vedika has been conducting every year, a fulfilled, joyful and creative science fest by the name “Chekumuki Science Sambaralu” at school, mandal, district and state levels.

Our students have been taking active participation and bagged many prizes. 

Senior Team secured 1st in Mandal Level, 3rd in District Level.

Our Junior team got 1st in Mandal Level, 2nd in District Level.

 

Rashtriya Ekta Divas 

The 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel was celebrated in our school as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’  on 31st October 2019.

The students and teachers took the ‘Unity Pledge’ to uphold the national integrity.  Speeches were given by students on the efforts of Sardar Vallabhai Patel towards integration of the country. Scouts team performed a march past. 

Such a celebration at schools is really appreciable as today’s students are tomorrow’s citizens and it is our prime responsibility to motivate them towards united India. We are thankful to CBSE board for giving us this opportunity. ‘Ek Bharath Sresht Bharath’.

 

Green Olympiad (The Energy and Resources Institute – TERI)

The exam is conducted by Environment Education and Awareness Area (EEA) of TERI on 26.10.2019. 

130 students took active participation in this exam from classes IV to X – at 3 levels (IV & V classes Level -1,  VI to VIII classes  Level – II & IX & X classes Level – III)

TERI has been conducting Green Olympiad to give great opportunity to drive students towards healthy environment around them and to make students active members by sending their contributions in the form of write ups, poetry, slogans, paintings etc.,

TERI Olympiad exam includes topics like pollution, global warming, scientists, sources of energy, e-waste, natural disasters, recycling measures etc from science, social and general knowledge. We thank parents for encouraging children to participate in the competitive exams and hope to see good ranks in the exam.

Mock Parliament:

Focus on developing an insight into the working of the Parliament, to make students consider public issues and to form their opinion on them. Mock Parliaments are an educational tool that stimulate the fuctiong of a legislative assembly.

They help in Understanding Parliamentary processes, Develop Critical Thinking, Enhance Public Speaking Skills, Promote Team work and Leadership, Foster Civic Awareness and Preparing Future Leaders.

Fire Evacuation – Awareness Campaign:

Saranya School organised a Fire Evacuation Awareness Programme on 26th August 2025 with the aim of creating awareness among students and staff about fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Objectives

  • To educate students and staff on fire safety measures
  • To train them in safe and orderly evacuation procedures
  • To promote calmness, discipline and teamwork during emergencies

The programme began with a briefing by the Fire Evacuation Team, who explained common causes of fire accidents and safety precautions to be followed in school premises. Students were informed about emergency signals, safe exit routes and the importance of listening to instructions.

A mock fire evacuation drill was conducted to give practical training. Students were guided to evacuate classrooms calmly and in an orderly manner, without panic or rushing. Teachers supervised their classes and ensured that students assembled at the designated safe point.

Teachers and staff members actively assisted during the drill, maintaining discipline and guiding students throughout the evacuation process. Their coordinated efforts ensured the success of the programme.

The programme enhanced safety awareness and prepared students and staff to respond effectively during fire emergencies. It helped build confidence and reinforced the importance of alertness and cooperation.

The Fire Evacuation Awareness Programme was highly informative and successful. It strengthened emergency preparedness and contributed towards creating a safer and more responsible school environment. Click here to see the pictures

OIL BOARD AWARENESS ACTIVITIES(2025):

With the objective of promoting healthy eating habits and creating awareness about the harmful effects of excessive intake of oil, sugar and fats, Saranya School successfully conducted Oil Board Awareness Activities for the benefit of the entire school community.

A series of Morning Assembly Activities were organised for all classes as part of this initiative. The assembly began with informative speeches delivered by students, focusing on balanced diets, nutritious food choices and the importance of reducing junk food consumption. This was followed by an interactive quiz that tested students’ knowledge of nutrition and healthy living. Students also presented health-related songs and catchy slogans that effectively conveyed the message of eating right. A collective pledge was administered, encouraging all students to adopt healthy food habits in their daily lives.

As part of the same assembly programme, a yoga session was conducted where students performed simple asanas and breathing exercises. This activity highlighted the role of physical fitness, discipline and mental well-being in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In addition, a debate was organised during the assembly, in which students actively discussed the impact of junk food versus healthy food, enabling them to think critically and express informed opinions.

To further reinforce the message, Oil Board posters and awareness messages were displayed in prominent locations across the school campus. These posters served as constant visual reminders, motivating students to make mindful food choices.

An Ingredients and Nutrition Label Reading Activity was conducted exclusively for Class VI students. During this activity, students were guided to read and understand food labels, identify hidden oils, sugars and fats, and differentiate between healthy and unhealthy food products. This practical exercise helped students become aware and responsible consumers.

Overall, the Oil Board Awareness Activities at Saranya School were effective and impactful. The programme successfully sensitised students towards healthy eating habits, the importance of physical activity and informed food choices, thereby contributing to their overall health and well-being.
